College Afghan

College Afghan

Last year our last child graduated from college and all she asked for besides a small party was this rippled afghan in her school colors. I was more than happy to grant that request, so off to the craft store I went searching for midnight blue and sunflower yellow colored yarn. I also had her purchase a college logo from the college bookstore to make it uniquely her own. This pattern of the rippled afghan was done in single crochet stitches and yes this one does require some patience. There were several times I took a break from this labor of love and worked on various other projects to feel as though I was accomplishing something and then I would come back to this project feeling refreshed. As you can see it turned out beautiful, I used a size G-hook, one pound packages of Caron yarn in midnight blue and sunflower, I crocheted a total of 11 stripes, 6 of midnight blue and 5 of sunflower, alternating 10 rows of each color, beginning and ending with the midnight blue, she was very pleased with the outcome. Needless to say now her roommate/BFF wants one in her school colors, lol. I hope by sharing this rippled afghan pattern that it inspires your next creative idea.
